You may already have spoken with one of our experts and reached the point in your discussions where you are weighing potential opportunities for collaboration. If you haven’t done this yet, you can find a contact person for your region here. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work!
The first step is to map out your company’s current situation and needs. We want to understand the nature of your logistics, your products, and your customers. For example, do you have any special scheduling requirements, needs for temperature-controlled transport or ADR handling, or specific site access delivery conditions to consider at the recipient’s end? Do you deliver your products to businesses, private customers, or both? These are some questions our experts will ask you to ensure we can offer you the best possible service package. Below, we outline other factors that will help us prepare a quote!
Transport profile and statistics
Knowing your exact transport profile helps us to understand where your shipments start their journey, what their destination is, and what kinds of goods are transported.
We would really like to receive your shipment-level data for an agreed comparison period. This allows us to calculate a realistic price for the total service package. At the same time, it prevents surprises for both parties later on, as the submitted shipment data – and therefore our quote – is based on actual shipment volumes rather than rough estimates.
Staff feedback
Where does your logistics organisation spend the most of its time? Can you identify any bottlenecks or hidden costs that could be eliminated? If your team spends a significant part of its day, for example, chasing shipment statuses, we’d be happy to find a solution.
The challenge can also be a state of stagnation – logistics is not evolving. At Kaukokiito, our customers have a designated contact person whom you can always call to brainstorm and develop your logistics together. You’ll have the support of our entire organisation, from production professionals to customer service and technology experts. It’s something our customers often give us praise for, and also something we’re also very proud of. We are always within reach.
Customer feedback
Have you identified any other bottlenecks in your logistics that require solving? What kind of feedback are you getting from your customers? Does your current setup serve them in the best possible way?
The challenge might be e.g. transport quality and low delivery reliability that you want to start improving. Sometimes the challenge can be the early order cut-off time and the consequent lost sales for your customers. The longer your customers can place orders so that there is still time to collect and pick up the shipment on the same day, the longer your sales window will be. At best, it can bring significant added value compared to competitors. At the same time, picking up a larger consignment in one go saves transport costs.
Sustainability targets
We are happy to discuss the options required to meet your climate targets and reduce transport emissions. For example, our Kaukokiito BIO service transports customer shipments using renewable diesel and reduces transport emissions by up to 90%.
When mapping out your current situation, there might be information that you do not feel comfortable sharing with us right away; however, this data might be quite relevant when tendering for transport quotes. These include the quality of your deliveries, delivery performance, and transport costs.
